Editorial policy
Sources
Our guides and county pages cite primary, official sources: statutes, court rules, court and agency websites, and administrative orders. We don’t cite other directories, marketing pages or anonymous blogs. Each claim links to its source in the Sources list.
If we can’t confirm it, we leave it out
We read the official text before we publish a claim. If we can’t confirm a fact from the official source, it doesn’t go on the page. We don’t publish invented price ranges or “typical” costs. Where we show costs, they’re fees published by courts or set by law. Once enough mediators report their own rates on claimed profiles, we may show those, along with how many mediators they come from.
AI assistance
We use AI tools to help research and draft. Every published claim is checked against its cited source, and the date of that check appears on the page.
Plain English, not legal advice
We write for people who aren’t lawyers. Our pages are general information, not legal advice, and laws change. For advice about your own situation, talk to a lawyer.
Paid placement never affects content
Mediators can’t pay to change a guide, a county page, or their certification details. Paid listings are always labeled “Featured · Paid placement.” All other listings are sorted by profile completeness, then alphabetically.
