Questions about finding a mediator
How do I find a mediator near me?
Search by city, county or ZIP code, or use your location, to see court-verified mediators nearest first. Filter by dispute type, language, certification type, fees or online sessions. Each listing shows the official roster it comes from and when we checked it, so you can confirm it yourself.
What does a mediator do?
A mediator is a neutral person who helps people in a dispute talk, sort out the issues and look for an agreement they can both accept. A mediator doesn't take sides or decide who is right; any agreement is up to the parties.

Do I need a court-certified mediator?
Only in some cases. When a court orders mediation, it may require a mediator from its own roster or one who meets its rules. When you choose mediation yourself, many states have no statewide license for private mediators, so check your state's rules first.

Can I use a mediator in another state?
Often, yes, especially online. In most states private mediation isn't licensed, so a mediator can work with clients elsewhere by video. For a court-ordered case, the court may require a mediator from its own roster. Where a mediator serves clients online is their own statement, shown separately from their court certifications.
Where do these listings come from?
Court-verified listings come only from official court or government rosters, such as a state supreme court's list of certified mediators or a court's mediation panel. We link each listing to its source and show the date we last checked it. Paid placements are always labeled.
