How verification works
Every profile on MediationList carries one of three labels. They mean different things, and only one of them comes from a court.
What it means: This person is on an official court or government mediator roster. We copied the listing from that public roster and link to it with the date we checked it.
What it doesn’t mean: It isn't an endorsement or a rating, and rosters change: check the linked official roster for current status.
What it means: MediationList looked at documents this mediator uploaded (for example a training certificate, bar card or association membership) on the date shown.
What it doesn’t mean: It is not a court certification and doesn't mean the person is on any court's roster. We don't re-check documents after the review date.
What it means: The mediator created this profile. Everything on it is information they provided.
What it doesn’t mean: MediationList has not checked it. It is not a court certification, and the person isn't on an official roster we collect.
Where each kind of profile appears
- Court-verified mediators make up the main list and the counts on state, county and city pages, and they are the only people shown by the “Court-approved in [State]” filter.
- Credentials reviewed and Self-listed profiles appear in a separate, labeled section below the court-verified mediators. They aren’t counted in court-verified totals.
Court-ordered cases
Courts often require a mediator from their own approved list for court-ordered mediation. Only a court-verified listing shows that someone is on an official roster, and you can confirm it with the roster linked on each profile. See data sources.

On an official roster? Claim your listing. Not on a roster we collect? Add your profile and, if you like, upload documents for a credentials review.
