Data changelog
What changed in MediationList’s data, release by release: rosters added, re-read, held or removed, new datasets, and changes to published figures. Each release is named by its date.
Version 2026.10.28
Annual report, versioned data and the changelog
- Published State of Court Mediation 2026 with a per-state dataset (CSV and JSON, CC BY 4.0). Its figures reuse the same counts as /statistics/, /mediator-deserts/ and the cost calculator.
- Mediator deserts headlines now say a county has no family mediator “based in” it (or “listed for” it, where a roster records counties served). Rosters record where a mediator is based, not every county they take cases in. Numbers unchanged.
- Roster names that carried our internal records-request notes (Minnesota, Sacramento, Alameda, West Virginia, Riverside) now read “(public-records response)” on profiles.
- Data releases now carry a version number and a “data as of” date, shown on /statistics/ and on every map; downloads state the CC BY 4.0 licence and the required attribution.
Version 2026.10.27
Divorce rates and no-fault datasets
- Added divorce rates by state from CDC/NCHS National Vital Statistics System (2000–2024) and Census ACS table B12503, with CSV and JSON downloads.
- Added the no-fault divorce states dataset (CSV) from each state’s verified statute.
- Community property states map published for 51 jurisdictions: 40 verified from the statute, which is quoted, and 11 not verified yet; Kansas shown as equitable distribution with a note on pending legislation.
Version 2026.10.26
Mediator deserts and divorce laws by state
- Published the mediator deserts county dataset (CSV and JSON): family mediators on each mapped state’s statewide court roster, by county, with Census Vintage 2024 population.
- Published divorce laws by state: waiting periods, residency, no-fault grounds, property and custody mediation for 50 states and DC, each from the state’s statute or court rule with the date checked.
Version 2026.10.23
Court-posted panel rates
- Added the rates courts post for their own mediator panels: 36 courts, 2,428 roster rows (1,847 plain hourly rates), shown as “Rate as posted by <court>” with the date read.
Version 2026.10.22
Vermont list held; one Florida population figure
- Vermont Department of Labor workers’ compensation mediator list held: the site’s robots.txt disallows our crawler. Vermont listings went from 80 to 44.
- Florida now uses the same U.S. Census Bureau Vintage 2024 estimates as every other state (it had used the 2020 Census count, with a footnote).
Version 2026.10.21
Georgia published; Maryland re-read
- Georgia published from the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution directory. Neutrals who hide their location in that directory (3,058 of 3,216) appear on the statewide page only, with no city or county.
- Maryland MPME directory re-read after the records-request answer: service counties added; one former member is shown as no longer listed.
Version 2026.10.20
Warren County, Ohio list removed
- Removed the Warren County (Ohio) Common Pleas mediator list: the county’s robots.txt now disallows our crawler. Ohio went from 205 to 182 listings.
Version 2026.10.19
West Virginia family list, Los Angeles and Riverside panels
- West Virginia Family Court mediator list dated 8/25/2026 replaced the 2025 list: 62 people (48 updated, 14 new). The 10 people no longer listed keep a profile marked as not on the current list, out of search and counts.
- Los Angeles Superior Court MVP panel re-read: 272 mediators (6 updated, 1 added, 1 no longer listed).
- Riverside Superior Court Civil Mediation Panel: 47 mediators published (28 new, 19 matched to existing California listings); 1 held because the court’s public page doesn’t list them.
Version 2026.10.16
Alameda County panel
- Alameda Superior Court Court Mediation Program (Civil & Probate) panel: 83 of 91 mediators published (52 matched to existing listings, 31 new); 8 held until a same-name match can be confirmed.
Version 2026.10.12
State re-audit
- State-by-state re-audit of the rosters: listings went from 24,154 to 26,832, including North Carolina’s Dispute Resolution Commission roster (1,211 people) and West Virginia’s family court list.
- Connecticut court-site data removed: the Judicial Branch’s robots.txt disallows our crawler.
- Added the Sacramento Superior Court civil panel (179, from a public-records response) and the N.D. Cal. early neutral evaluation panel (87): 27,002 listings.
Version 2026.10.10
Version 2026.10.09
Launch
- mediationlist.com launched. Collected in the days before launch: the Minnesota Rule 114 roster (from a records-request reply; 857 active neutrals, 85 inactive held), Maryland’s MACRO statewide rosters (Maryland 364 listings) and the Tennessee Rule 31 public listing (Tennessee 1,304 listings).
- mediationlist.com launched. New York’s roster counted in the headline total (20,000+); a 2020 Rhode Island list and a 2021 Tulsa list held as too old.
- Added the New Hampshire PELRB list of neutrals (29; 6 matched to existing people). West Virginia State Bar mediators (17) labeled “Credentials reviewed”, not court-verified.
Releases from before data versioning began in October 2026 were numbered afterwards from our dated records; each version is the date of the change. Fixes to wording or figures on a page are also listed in the corrections log.
