How Florida CME works, in the DRC’s words
There is no course approval in Florida
“The Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution does not pre-approve mediation activities. There is no application or fee charged by the DRC to program providers.”
So no Florida CME course is “approved”, ours included. Each course states its CME hours plainly instead.1
You report your own hours at renewal
“Each mediator is responsible for maintaining all records relating to CME, which records are subject to audit by the DRC.”
You report your CME on the DRC’s renewal form. MediationList doesn’t report hours for you; every course and certificate states its hours and category so you can.2
Keep the records an audit asks for
“a program agenda with time frames and topics reflected, a certification of attendance/completion, a copy of their registration information”
Every completion gives you all three in one PDF: the certificate, the agenda with time frames, and your registration and attendance record.1

Questions
Does the Florida DRC approve CME courses?
No. The DRC's provider guidance says: “The Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution does not pre-approve mediation activities. There is no application or fee charged by the DRC to program providers.” It adds: “CMEs do not have course numbers.” So no Florida CME course, ours included, can truthfully claim DRC approval.
Who reports my hours?
You do, on the DRC's renewal form at the end of each two-year cycle. The Operating Procedures say: “Each mediator is responsible for maintaining all records relating to CME, which records are subject to audit by the DRC.” MediationList doesn't report hours to the DRC for you; your certificate and completion record are what you keep in case your renewal is audited.
Can all 16 hours be on-demand?
Yes. The Operating Procedures list “listening to or viewing previously recorded presentations” among the formats, and on October 27, 2026 the DRC told us by email: “there is no limit for recorded or remote CMEs.” Every MediationList Training course is recorded video with a short quiz, so you can finish all 16 hours on your own schedule.
How are hours counted?
Florida CME hours are 50-minute hours: “CME credit is based on a 50-minute hour.” Your certificate shows the total and the hours in each special category: Mediator Ethics, Interpersonal Violence (IPV), Diversity/Cultural Awareness.
Is this legal advice?
No. This page summarizes the DRC's published guidance and links to it. Check the DRC's current renewal instructions before you report, and contact the DRC with questions about your own renewal.
Florida Courts, Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution (Dispute Resolution Center), “Mediator Renewal & CME Information” (Basics for Providers; Renewal Application Instructions), flcourts.gov.
