Mediation and ADR

Mediator fees

What a mediator or mediation program charges. Maryland's standards require fees to be reasonable, explained to each party before the first session, and preferably put in writing.[1]

In more detail

The same standards bar fees that depend on the outcome of the mediation.[1] Costs vary: some court, government and community programs are free or use a sliding fee scale, while private mediators usually charge by the hour, often split between the parties.[2] Florida sets per-person session fees for family and county court mediation in its court programs.[3]
