The Circuit Court for Allegany County in Cumberland runs a Domestic Mediation Program through its Family Support Services office to help families resolve parenting conflicts outside the adversarial process.[5] For that program, the court keeps a list of court-approved private mediators trained in family conflict.[5] The Judiciary's MACRO office lists separate civil (non-family) and family ADR programs at the circuit court, with a court administrator who also serves as mediation coordinator.[6] ADR services in the District Court are free to participants.[6] Mediation First, a community program based in Washington County, offers free or low-cost mediation to Allegany County residents, remotely and possibly in person.[6] Most mediators listed below come from MACRO's Circuit Court Roster and its Mediator Excellence directory.[2][7]
