How does mediation work in Oakland County?
Oakland County makes up Michigan's 6th judicial circuit under MCL 600.507.[2] The Oakland County Circuit Court's Case Management Office in Pontiac (248-858-0350) runs a mediation page with lists of approved civil, domestic and probate mediators, brochures and mediator applications.[3] The court's ADR plan for civil and domestic cases is Local Administrative Order 2018-02, probate cases follow LAO 2018-01, and a separate mediation plan (LAO 2016-02) covers cases evaluated at no more than $25,000.[3] Most mediators listed below are on the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan's Panel of Facilitative Mediators, and some come from the Macomb County 16th Circuit roster.[4][5]
