41 civil lawsuits & business mediators listed in Hamilton County from official Tennessee rosters, each with its official source.
Hamilton County lies in Tennessee's 11th Judicial District; its Circuit and Chancery Courts both hear domestic matters such as divorce [1]. Since December 1, 1997, the Circuit and Chancery Courts have run a divorce education and mediation program under Tenn. Code Ann. § 36-6-401 et seq. [2]. Divorcing parents of minor children must attend a four-hour seminar and must try to mediate any parenting-plan dispute before court, with exceptions for Title IV-D and abuse cases [2]. If parties cannot agree on a mediator, the courts appoint only certified Rule 31 mediators [2]. Most mediators below are on the AOC's Rule 31 listing (October 2026) [4]; some are on the Eastern District's federal list [3].

Court-connected mediation in Tennessee: When a Tennessee court orders Rule 31 mediation and the parties don't pick a listed Rule 31 mediator together, the judge names three from the AOC's statewide list and each side strikes one name.
Private mediation in Tennessee: Rule 31 says its standards cover only mediations and mediators under that rule, not private mediation outside it. The ADR Commission may waive training for a mediator approved and in good standing in another state.
