How this list is built: these are certified family mediators whose official Illinois roster record lists an attorney or in-state Bar member background. In mediation they work as neutrals: a mediator doesn’t represent or advise either side, even if they’re a lawyer. If you want legal advice about your own case, hire your own attorney. Mercer County, whose circuit clerk is in Aledo, is one of four counties in Illinois's Fourteenth Judicial Circuit, with Henry, Rock Island and Whiteside.[2][3] The circuit keeps a list of court-approved mediators for child custody cases and a separate civil mediator list dated October 1, 2026, both posted on the Rock Island County website.[1][4] The circuit's Arbitration & Mediation Center runs a court-annexed arbitration program that relies on attorneys from all four counties, with hearings held at the arbitration center in Rock Island.[3][5] Cases claiming money damages over $10,000 and up to $75,000 are eligible for arbitration, and judges may assign certain other cases.[6] Most mediators listed below are on the circuit's child custody list, and one is on its civil list.[1][4]
